The Walpole Town Library offers you titles from bestselling authors
through its partnership with the
New Hampshire Downloadable Books Program. Digital titles
can be enjoyed in many ways: on your personal computer or Smartphone;
burned to a CD; or transferred to a portable device such as an MP3 player,
iPod or iPhone.
More information is available about this free program at the
Circulation Desk or call (603) 756-9806. You will need a
valid card from the Walpole Town Library and user login
information.
With the abundance of devices, the question is, "What works
with what?"
Click any of the links in the table above for more details
and to download the free OverDrive Media Console and Adobe
Digital Editions. Click on the links in the Devices column
to visit the OverDrive Resource Center for details about all the
software and devices that can be used with the downloadable
books.
The NH State Library maintains a great
blog with
information to help users access both audiobooks and ebooks, a
list of the newest books, and details of
how to use the downloadable books with a variety of devices
including a Nook, Kobo, Sony Reader, Android Phone, iPad,
iPhone, and iPod Touch.
Information on getting started and downloading the necessary
free software is available as a downloadable document. Adobe Reader is
required to view the document and is available
here
if you don't already have it (and it is free).
Returning eBooks Early
You may have a maximum of three books (audiobooks and ebooks) checked out at
one time. eBooks are borrowed for 14 days, but they can be returned
early which means you can borrow another book, and someone else can borrow
the book you finished. (Note: audiobooks can't be returned
early.) Click
here to see how to return your ebooks early.
