Library Information
The Walpole Town Library consists of the Bridge Memorial Library (48 Main
Street, Walpole, NH) and the North Walpole Branch Library (78 Church Street,
North Walpole, NH). All residents of Walpole (including the villages
of North Walpole and Drewsville) are encouraged to use either or both
libraries.

Library Materials: The Library collection
contains books for all ages, including large print books,
periodicals, newspapers, movies, audio books, and other special
items.
Registration: To receive a library card, ask
to fill out a registration form. You will be asked to
present a photo ID that shows you are a resident of Walpole,
North Walpole or Drewsville. Children may apply for their
first library card after age 6. A parent's signature is
required for children. Library cards are free to students
of the local schools and to workers employed by local
businesses. A non-resident may register to borrow books by
paying a $15.00 annual fee.
Loan Periods: Most books and audio books may
be borrowed for three weeks. New materials circulate for
two weeks. Movies and magazines can be checked out for one
week.
Renewals: Older materials may be renewed by
phone, in person, or
online. The Library does not renew new (14
day) books or materials that another patron has already
reserved.
Reserves (also called Holds in Koha): If the
Library's copy of a book is checked out, you may reserve it.
You will be called or emailed when the book is available.
Overdue Charges: Fines are calculated based on
the days the Library is open. Rates are $0.05 per day for
books, periodicals and children's materials. The overdue
rate for movies is $0.50 per day. Anyone with unpaid fines
exceeding $25.00 will not be allowed to borrow materials until
the items are returned and the fines are paid. Lost or
damaged items must be paid for by the patron.
Interlibrary Loans: If you want a book or
other materials that our Library does not own, the Library will
try to obtain it from another New Hampshire library for free.
Loans from out of the state may include a fee.
